Job summary

Springs Rescue Mission in Colorado Springs seeks a Facilities Technician Instructor to maintain safe, clean facilities and lead a hands-on vocational training program. The role ensures preventive maintenance, oversees student work, and collaborates with the Vocational Training team to deliver quality repairs.

Requirements include 2+ years in maintenance, a high school diploma, and a valid Colorado driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in building maintenance, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
• High school diploma required.
• Forklift trainer certification preferred.
• Custodial/janitorial certificates preferred.
• Must be physically able to perform duties.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license; clean driving record.
• Ability to train and supervise trainees.
• Safety-conscious with knowledge of facility operations.
• Willingness to work irregular hours.
• Strong reading, writing and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Vocational Training team.
• Maintain budget and steward resources.
• Assess service requests and determine steps to resolve.
• Complete assigned service requests efficiently.
• Work with trainees to ensure quality of work.
• Submit monthly reports as directed by supervisor.
• Respond to emergency calls.
• Attend SRM meetings and review emails.
• Duties may change at management’s discretion.
• Drive SRM vehicle or own vehicle with valid license and clean record.
