Job summary

TEGNA Inc. seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician for WBNS-TV in Columbus, OH, reporting to the Head of Technology. The role coordinates building operations, grounds upkeep, and backup power to support the station's technical infrastructure.

Responsibilities include managing HVAC systems, generator maintenance, and vehicle fleet servicing across locations, with travel between sites as needed. OSHA certification is preferred, and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in facility maintenance or property maintenance, supporting multiple locations.
• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing and HVAC configurations is a plus.
• OSHA 10- or 30-Hour General Industry certification preferred but not required.
• Experience in technology or broadcast operations environments is beneficial.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building maintenance and security checks across multiple sites.
• Manage grounds care including landscaping, lighting, drainage, and snow removal.
• Coordinate with Head of Technology on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
• Assist in generator maintenance, fueling, load bank testing, and service scheduling.
• Schedule routine vehicle servicing and repairs for news vehicles and production vans.
• Support power reliability with UPS systems and automatic transfer switches.
• Support HVAC control rooms, server racks, and studio space cooling needs.
• Track vehicle registrations and local regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with external vendors to ensure timely maintenance delivery.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and station emergency protocols.
