Job summary

The LGBTQ+ Center of Las Vegas is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain a safe, functional building environment. You will inspect and service HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other infrastructure, ensuring reliability for our programs and visitors.

This role requires hands-on skills, the ability to troubleshoot, and coordination with vendors. You will follow safety rules, manage work orders, and support renovations while keeping documentation up to date for a welcoming community center.

Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined with basic shop skills (electrical, plumbing and carpentry).
• Must read, comprehend, and work from plans and operating instructions.
• Must work a flexible schedule, including Sundays and evenings, as necessary.
• Ability to be trained on security responsibilities.
• Always maintain professional and courteous behavior and provide excellent customer service to all building users.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspect and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical.
• Support Operations Manager in drafting and implementing preventive maintenance schedules.
• Conduct routine inspections of building exteriors (groundskeeping, landscaping, pest control).
• Troubleshoot, repair and replace damaged building components (drywall, flooring, ceilings).
• Perform cleaning, carpentry and painting tasks.
• Ensure assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use.
• Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all building equipment.
• Maintain physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, organized and functional environment.
• Receive, manage, and process work order requests; ensure problems are resolved quickly.
• Act as liaison between employees and outside contractors for specialized problems.
• Adhere to safety regulations and procedures and ensure safety standards are followed.
• Participate in the emergency preparedness planning team.
• Apply/assist with environmental permit applications.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies; reorder as needed.
• Assist with building renovations and upgrades.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
