Job summary

The American Red Cross in Abilene, TX seeks a skilled maintenance technician to repair and maintain facilities, machinery and equipment. You will perform tasks across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and related trades, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will use hand and power tools, read blueprints and diagrams, document work, and possibly drive to other locations. A High School diploma and 3 years of experience are required, with a valid driver's license and ability

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent required. May require a trade license.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.
• Skills & Abilities: Truck and/or bus driving experience is desirable; basic computer skills may be required; strong communication skills.
• Team & other: May have on-call duties; ability to work on a team; valid driver’s license and good driving record; travel to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair organization facilities and properties; patch holes, repair floors, paint structures.
• Install and correct minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural problems; document work as required by regulators.
• Install, operate and service boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps and related mechanical equipment.
• Move and store furniture and equipment as needed; drive to other locations as required.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with established regulations.
