Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks an experienced maintenance technician to monitor, maintain and repair building specialty systems across campus. You will work to ensure safety and environmental control while optimizing energy use in mechanical and electrical systems.

The role requires knowledge of air compressors, vacuum pumps, water pumps and fire protection equipment, with on-call duty for one week and scheduled weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and three years trade experience directly related to the area of employment.
• Some positions require a commercial driver's license.
• Some positions require EPA-approved freon recovery certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, adjust, and repair building specialty systems to ensure safety, environmental control and economy of mechanical, electrical systems.
• Respond to trouble calls and document activities including logs and parts used.
• On a rotating basis, be available to respond to emergencies after hours and over weekends.
• Interact with staff, vendors, and use maintenance manuals/schematics to resolve operational problems.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to infection control and safety requirements.
