Job summary

MSI Express, INC is seeking a Facilities Technician III to perform routine and preventive maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems in our Illinois facility. You will troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain equipment, lead maintenance projects, keep thorough records, and ensure safety compliance while mentoring junior technicians and coordinating with external contractors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.
• Perform complex troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Lead or perform installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and building infrastructure.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and report issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to entry-level and intermediate technicians.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols to enhance efficiency.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and minimize disruption to operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Technician III is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation and safety of the industrial facility. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.
• Perform complex troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES)

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
