Job summary

TechDigital Group in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a maintenance technician to operate, monitor, and repair facility systems including HVAC, electrical, and controls. This first-shift role requires hands-on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to keep manufacturing operations running safely and reliably.

You will serve as ERP for assigned equipment in SAP and LIMS, coordinate with lab, facility, leadership, and contractors, and contribute to continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Completion of technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, industrial maintenance, or related field.
• Journeyman HVAC or electrical certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing/lab environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting and repair experience with HVAC systems, electrical distribution, controls, and related building systems.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and related documentation.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to share technical knowledge and support training.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility systems and utilities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime and support safe daily operations.
• Serve as ERP for assigned equipment in SAP and LIMS, including inspections and documentation.
• Troubleshoot routine and moderately complex facility issues following SOPs and safety requirements.
• Coordinate maintenance work with facility staff, internal teams, and contractors for quality execution.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and procure materials needed for maintenance and projects.
• Support EH&S, environmental, quality, and safety compliance requirements.
• Identify improvements that enhance safety, performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and climb stairs or ladders. These activities are required to inspect and repair equipment.
• Use hands and arms to handle tools, materials, and equipment components.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 45 pounds.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow site safety standards.

Required:

• Completion of technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Journeyman-level HVAC or electrical certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, laboratory, R&D, or similarly complex environment.
• Advanced troubleshooting and repair experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems, electrical distribution, controls, mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, and related building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and related technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and coordinate across lab, facility, leadership, and contractor teams.
• Ability to share technical knowledge, support training, and contribute to a strong safety culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with instrumentation, building automation systems, or controls.
• Experience coordinating contractors or supporting maintenance projects. Experience contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Additional skilled-trade experience, hazmat training, or forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility systems and utilities, including HVAC, process equipment, electrical systems, controls, and related building equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and support safe daily facility operations.
• Serve as the equipment responsible person (ERP) for assigned equipment, including inspections, calibrations, verifications, and accurate documentation in SAP and LIMS.
• Troubleshoot routine and moderately complex facility issues while following applicable SOPs, codes, standards, and site safety requirements.
• Coordinate maintenance work with facility staff, internal teams, and third-party contractors to support quality execution and timely completion.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and procure materials, tools, parts, and supplies needed for maintenance and project work.
• Support EH&S, environmental, quality, life critical standards, lockout/tagout, safe work permitting, electrical safety, and other compliance requirements.
• Identify and support improvements that enhance safety, performance, efficiency, sustainability, and equipment reliability.

Work Schedule

This is a first-shift position. Overtime, weekend support, off-hours support, or on-call availability may be required based on maintenance and facility needs.
