Job summary

Neurocrine Biosciences in San Diego is seeking a Technician II, Facilities to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of our facilities, including laboratory and office environments. This hands-on role responds to service requests, performs general building maintenance and repairs, and assists with relocations and special projects.

The ideal candidate is proactive, service-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently across a variety of facilities needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or Associate degree with 2+ years of related facilities experience.
• Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Hands-on experience with basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, painting/drywall, and general building repairs.
• Experience with furniture installation and repair.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of safety practices and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Respond to facilities service requests promptly with excellent customer service.
• Perform general building maintenance and repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, painting, drywall, and carpentry.
• Install, repair, and maintain furniture, fixtures, and equipment in lab and office spaces.
• Support moves, relocations, and workspace reconfigurations.
• Assist with facilities projects, space commissioning/decommissioning, storage and new service installations.
• Conduct routine building inspections and coordinate fixes with relevant teams.
• Monitor and deliver laboratory gases.
• Assist with conference room and corporate event setups.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
• Coordinate with outside vendors for supplies and services.
• Support Facilities and EHS initiatives and special projects.
