Job summary

Center for Elders’ Independence is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician II to support daily maintenance, repair, and operational tasks across CEI’s PACE centers and administrative facilities. The role emphasizes safety, timely responses to work orders, and coordination with vendors.

The position requires five years of experience in commercial maintenance, strong organization and communication skills, and a California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities operations, or plant operations.
• Experience maintaining multiple commercial buildings or healthcare facilities preferred.
• Certifications in construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
• Valid California driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technician for assigned PACE centers, maintaining overall condition.
• Diagnose and perform corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Respond to work orders promptly to minimize disruption.
• Perform routine inspections for safety, compliance, and maintenance needs.
• Complete minor repairs across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and more.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs.
• Assist with renovations, relocations, and equipment installations.
• Support emergency preparedness and respond to facility emergencies.
• Document work orders, inspections, and maintenance activities in the CMMS.
• Ensure OSHA and safety policy compliance.
