The Facilities Technician II will perform skilled labor, preventative maintenance and general maintenance on buildings and equipment. Performs a variety of skilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, or plastering. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the technician will assist all staff with Facilities related tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist with laboratory and office moves and new equipment installations
- Perform preventative maintenance of facilities and equipment as needed
- Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical (AC and/or DC), forklift, equipment repairs as directed
- Assists in ordering parts and maintaining inventory control
- Use maintenance and asset tracking software to document inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed
- Assist in response to facility emergency events and serve as a team member on various response teams
- Attend training for First Aid CPR/AED and other training as required
- Adherence to safety regulations and internal policies to ensure a safe work environment
- Perform duties with minimal supervision
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Demonstrates active team building, willingness to take ownership of tasks and procedures
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Skilled mechanical aptitude (experience in use of hand tools/power tools, industrial equipment, etc.)
- Ability to assemble and disassemble mechanical components
- Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles
- Eligible to be fork truck certified
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
Required Education and Experience:- Highschool diploma or GED
- 2-4 years of job experience in a similar role
- Industrial/trade school graduation/certification will be considered in combination with experience
Physical Demands:- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders (fall harness may be required)
- Ability to perform work in a variety of weather conditions
- May require ability to use dust mask or respirator – no facial hair for fitting
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Experience in asset tracking and maintenance software (CMMS experience preferred)
- Certification and/or skilled in a vocational (electrician, plumber, HVAC controls, etc.) and/or industrial trade (machine repairs, industrial production equipment, automotive experience) preferred

Pay Range: $26.00-$30.00 per hour with the complete benefits package.
