Job summary

Des Plaines Park District seeks a Facility Maintenance I to perform general, specialized, and preventative maintenance on district buildings and facilities, with emphasis on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pumps, and boilers. This role requires diagnosing issues, performing inspections, and providing on-call emergency support in a diverse community.

The position covers maintenance at the Golf Center and Mountain View Adventure Center, and includes daily custodial duties and event support as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Two years related maintenance experience.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required or available through the District on hire.
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License; CPO/APO preferred but not needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pumps, motors and boilers in District facilities.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and obtain parts for repairs.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on building equipment.
• Work on-call for emergencies and special operations support.
• Assist in snow removal and event support as needed.
• Perform daily custodial tasks and site set-ups.
• Support maintenance at Golf Center and Mountain View Adventure Center.
