Job summary

Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our hands-on maintenance team. This role focuses on keeping buildings safe, functional, and well maintained through routine upkeep and preventive activities.

The position is entry-level manual labor and semi-skilled technical work, reporting to a supervisor under general supervision, with duties across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of facility maintenance experience.
• Valid Florida driver license within 30 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and systems to identify repairs and document findings.
• Perform minor electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry tasks.
• Set up and rearrange modular spaces and furniture to accommodate needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and manage parts and records.
• Attend work regularly and follow safety protocols.
