Job summary

The City of Gainesville is seeking an entry-level Community Builder for the Parking Operations division. This role performs routine facility maintenance and janitorial duties, reports to a supervisor, and participates in preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related maintenance experience, plus a valid driver license. This on-site City position offers benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
One (1) year of experience in building/facility maintenance work, including use of tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair work.

Responsibilities

Performs general cleaning activities such as trash collection, restroom cleaning, window washing, spill clean-up, and sweeping or blowing of dirt/leaves/debris.
Inspects buildings, equipment and grounds for needed maintenance and repair and handles any minor repairs required.
Performs general painting of walls, floors or other structures as needed.
Performs minor plumbing maintenance and maintains parking meters.
Maintains grounds around parking structures including mowing, weed eating and trimming.
Performs routine collection and audit of parking meters in coordination with other departments.
