Job summary

State of Louisiana is seeking a Maintenance position in Jackson, LA, within the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System’s Maintenance Department. The role covers a range of tasks from carpentry to HVAC and requires upkeep of hospital grounds and facilities.

You will operate power tools and perform basic repairs in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting while maintaining a valid driver’s license. Appointment Type: WAE (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period).

Qualifications

• Two years experience or training in building trades, maintenance, or grounds maintenance.
• Two-year vocational program in general building construction or related field.
• Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hospital grounds and facilities.
• Operate landscaping equipment and perform groundskeeping tasks.
• Make basic repairs in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC/refrigeration, and painting.
