Job summary

Linn County is seeking a Facilities Worker to perform non-technical maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment. The role includes carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, painting, and assisting contractors as needed. Shift is Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m.

– 11:00 p.m. A High School diploma or equivalent and 1–3 years of related building trades experience are required, along with a valid Iowa driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in related building trades required.
• A valid Iowa Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-technical maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Assists in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, floor coverings and painting tasks.
• Moves desks, file cabinets, and office equipment.
• Mows lawn and maintains landscaping.
• Operates light construction equipment and snow/ice removal tools.
• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs including light bulb replacements and inspections.
• Responds to emergency calls on all buildings, including 24/7 operations.
