Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services is seeking a Construction/Maintenance Technician for duties at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf (OSD) in Sulphur. Responsibilities include building maintenance, basic repairs, and upkeep of facilities and grounds.

Two years of building trades experience are required along with ability to follow instructions, and safety-focused work practices. Some positions may require travel and a valid CDL depending on assignment.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in one or more building trades.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Good safety awareness and ability to perform tasks safely.
• Some positions may require travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work in construction or renovation projects; erect scaffolds and fixtures; repair doors, floors, windows, and related structures.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures; handle minor repairs to equipment and systems.
• Maintain electrical, HVAC, and other building systems; troubleshoot non-licensed electrical tasks.
• Construct and repair foundations, walls, sidewalks, and other structures; maintain grounds and outdoor spaces.
• Operate, maintain, and repair equipment used in building maintenance and construction.
