Job summary

Longview in Ithaca is seeking a Facilities Technician to perform maintenance across the campus, ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff. You will service HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and operate the Longview bus when required.

We value dependable, customer-service oriented individuals who can work independently, manage multiple tasks, and follow safety protocols. Schedule offers day or evening shifts with on-call rotations; compensation is $19.00–$21.00 per hour

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Valid driver’s license required; 21+ to operate Longview bus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, mechanical equipment, boilers, generators, and compressors.
• Diagnose and repair issues in resident rooms, common areas, kitchens, offices, and exterior spaces.
• Complete room turnovers, including repairs, painting, fixture replacement, and equipment setup.
• Perform minor carpentry, patching, flooring repairs, and general upkeep.
• Maintain grounds, including trash removal, exterior inspections, and snow and ice control.
• Inspect, test, and maintain life-safety systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, smoke detectors, emergency lighting, and exit signage.
• Respond to facility emergencies, including emergency snow removal and other safety-related incidents, which may occur outside of normal work hours.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors as necessary.
• Complete required training, in-services, and other duties as assigned.
