Job summary

TaraVista Behavioral Health in Massachusetts is hiring a Facilities Technician to keep our clinical and administrative spaces safe and functional. This full-time role involves skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems.

You will diagnose problems, reference codes and manuals, order parts when needed, and support tenants via the facility portal. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and on-call weekends rotate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools used in maintenance.
• General knowledge of multi-craft maintenance including carpentry, electric, heating/cooling and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility, equipment or machinery.
• Assembles, installs and/or repairs wiring, electrical and electronic components, plumbing, structures, fixtures, HVAC, locks, generators and engines.
• Diagnoses problems and determines corrective solutions with reference to codes, blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
• Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts using hand and power tools and reassembles equipment.
• Maintains parts, supplies, and equipment, and notifies supervisor when supplies are needed.
• May drive vehicle as needed.
• Performs job duties related to tenant requests on web portal building maintenance system.

Full Time 40 Hours Monday-Friday Days with rotating on call every third weekend.

Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility, equipment or machinery

Assembles, installs and/or repairs: wiring, electrical and electronic components, plumbing/pipe systems, physical structures, fixtures, paint, HVAC systems, locks/access systems, generators, engines, etc.

Diagnoses problems and determines corrective solutions, referring to and/or adhering to building codes, blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary

Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassembles equipment

Maintains parts, supplies, and equipment advising supervisor when supplies need to be ordered

May drive vehicle as needed

Performs job duties related to tenant request on web portal building maintenance system

Successful Facilities Technicians candidates will have the following:

• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools used to perform job duties in area of expertise
• General knowledge of multi-craft maintenance in carpentry, electric, heating/cooling, and plumbing
• Ability to operate the specific tools used in the area of expertise, including related tools and equipment such as common hand and power tools, hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
• High School Diploma or GED required.
