Job summary

Interface in Georgia is seeking a Facilities Technician to support day-to-day operations at Troup County facilities and nearby Interface sites in the Atlanta area. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance across electrical, plumbing and mechanical crafts, with carpentry duties (metal stud framing, drywall) and carpet tile installation.

You will work with contractors, ensure safety, and help sustain ISO procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate preferred.
• Experience in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance.
• 1–2 years carpentry for commercial spaces (metal stud framing, ceilings, drywall finishing).
• Experience with carpet tile installation preferred.
• Must have powered industrial equipment license.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Support facilities functions related to people and public space.
• Plan simple layouts; execute construction, run conduit, paint as needed.
• Experience in commercial painting.
• Assemble and modify furniture systems including electrical and data systems.
• Inventory, protect and transport furniture assets for reuse or projects.
• Manage physical inventory; storage and retrieval.
• Work with and oversee contractors; liaise with maintenance group on joint projects.
• Maintain housekeeping.
• Comply with safety rules.
• Be aware of MSDS.
• Ensure ISO procedures are followed.
• Understand Interface's commitment to sustainability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational requirements:

Skills and experience:

• Good communication skills, written and verbal
• Training and/or experience in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance craft.
• One to two years experience for commercial grade carpentry including metal stud framework, drop ceilings, drywall installation and finishing.
• Experience with carpet tile installation preferred.
• Must meet the license requirements for powered industrial equipment.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record.

Essential duties:
