As a Facilities Technician 1, you’ll support our stores by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and general trade work across a variety of building systems and equipment. From diagnosing mechanical issues to completing plumbing, electrical, and basic structural repairs, you’ll use a wide range of tools to keep our facilities safe, efficient, and running smoothly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine, preventive maintenance to ensure our stores and equipment continue to operate properly.
- Perform basic trade functions including electrical, plumbing, assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
- Review gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery found in food service.
- Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties.
Role Requirements
- Supports a 24/7 operation; occasional after-hours, weekend, or holiday work may be required.
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods.
- Lifting and carrying materials or equipment up to 150 pounds.
- Climbing ladders and working at heights.
- Operating hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Working in varying environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, heat, cold, noise).
- Using fine motor skills for detailed tasks such as wiring, repairs, or adjustments.
- Occasional use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, or respirators.
Qualifications
- Education – Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Experience – 1+ years in a related field; experience with ticket management systems such as ServiceNow or Cherwell preferred.
- Team Member Leadership Skills – Communicates clearly and respectfully; takes initiative; demonstrates self‑awareness; solves routine problems; delivers high‑quality work and customer focus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $22/hour – $25/hour + DOE + Bonus Opportunity (salary may vary based on experience, education, skills, and market conditions).
