Job summary

Sioux Area Metro (SAM) by Via is seeking a Facilities Technician in Sioux Falls, SD. You will be responsible for upkeep of SAM’s properties and receive on-the-job training.

The role requires basic HVAC, carpentry, and plumbing knowledge, a valid SD driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a CDL permit. You must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check. Shifts are bid by seniority.

Overview

Role

As a Facilities Technician at SAM by Via, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of SAM’s properties. On the job training will be provided.

What You’ll Do

• Clean buses, bus shelters, and buildings
• Maintain buildings and grounds, including general yard work and light building maintenance skills
• Additional responsibilities will be shared during the interview

Who You Are

• Possess basic knowledge of HVAC, carpentry, and plumbing
• Hold a valid SD driver’s license
• Able to obtain a CDL permit
• Able to pass a pre-employment physical
• Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets
• At least 21 years old
• Able to apply in person at the Sioux Area Metro office

Compensation and Benefits

• Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.
• Salary: $21.12 - $23.47/hour depending on experience.

• Shifts are bid by seniority
