Job summary

Sioux Area Metro, a Via entity, is hiring a Facilities Technician to help maintain SAM’s properties in Sioux Falls. On-the-job training is provided. You will clean buses, shelters and buildings and assist with general yard work and light maintenance across SAM facilities.

The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of HVAC, carpentry and plumbing, holds a valid SD driver’s license, and can obtain a CDL permit. A pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check are required.

Job description

As a Facilities Technician at SAM by Via, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of SAM’s properties. On the job training will be provided.

What You’ll Do:

• Clean buses, bus shelters, and buildings
• Maintain buildings and grounds, including general yard work and light building maintenance skills
• Additional responsibilities will be shared during the interview

Who You Are:

• Possess basic knowledge of HVAC, carpentry, and plumbing
• Hold a valid SD driver’s license
• Able to obtain a CDL permit
• Able to pass a pre-employment physical
• Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets
• At least 21 years old
• Able to apply in person at the Sioux Area Metro office

Compensation and Benefits:

• Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.
• Salary: $21.12 - $23.47/hour depending on experience.
• Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, 401K, clothing allowance, holiday pay, vacation days, bonus days, and tool allowance
• Shifts are bid by seniority
