Aerotek in Richmond, VA seeks a Facilities Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance across plumbing, electrical, building systems, and patient rooms in healthcare facilities.

The Facilities Technician performs corrective and preventive maintenance on plumbing systems, building infrastructure, electrical equipment, and patient rooms within a healthcare facility. This role focuses on level-one facility maintenance work orders and supports the safe and efficient operation of surgical centers and medical office spaces.
Perform on-demand, corrective, and preventive maintenance on facility equipment, including machinery, plumbing, building systems, electrical equipment, and patient rooms.
Complete level-one basic facility maintenance work orders, ensuring tasks are finished accurately and on time.
Repair and patch drywall, including surface preparation and finishing, to maintain a professional appearance of walls and ceilings.
Paint walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as needed to keep the facility in good condition.
Install and replace ceiling tiles to maintain a clean and functional environment.
Perform basic electrical tasks such as changing out ballasts, replacing light fixtures, and adjusting lighting as required.
Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, including toilets, to ensure proper operation and minimize downtime.
Replace lighting components and ensure all areas maintain appropriate illumination for a healthcare setting.
Support the maintenance and operation of surgical centers and doctors offices, helping to uphold facility standards and accreditation requirements.
Conduct safety checks and preventive maintenance (PMs) on facility systems and equipment, documenting findings and actions taken.
Use a computer system to receive, track, and close work requests, and to log time, materials, and inventory usage.
Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of maintenance supplies and materials, and communicate replenishment needs.
Collaborate with the facilities team and other departments to prioritize work orders and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
Travel between assigned locations as needed to complete maintenance tasks, including work at multiple facilities.
Perform other miscellaneous duties within the maintenance field as assigned to support overall facility operations.
Two years of relevant facility maintenance experience in a healthcare, commercial, or industrial setting.
Hands-on experience with general facilities maintenance, including basic mechanical and building systems work.
Proficiency in basic electrical maintenance, including changing ballasts, replacing light fixtures, and making lighting adjustments.
Practical plumbing skills, including repairing toilets and performing minor plumbing repairs.
Experience with drywall repair, patching, and finishing.
Painting skills for interior surfaces, including preparation and application.
Carpentry abilities related to facility maintenance, such as installing ceiling tiles and minor repairs.
Experience performing preventive maintenance and safety checks on facility equipment and systems.
Ability to use a computer for tracking work requests, logging time and materials, and managing inventory.
Capability to work in a healthcare environment and support the maintenance of patient care areas and surgical centers.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant facility.
Prior experience in a healthcare facility is a plus, particularly in environments subject to accreditation audits.
Familiarity with facility accreditation standards and the importance of maintaining compliance-ready conditions.
Exposure to HVAC systems and basic understanding of HVAC-related maintenance tasks.
Ability to travel between multiple facility locations as needed.
Willingness to work occasional weekends or late evenings to complete preventive maintenance or special projects.
Interest in pursuing additional certifications or advanced training in facilities maintenance or related fields.

You will work as part of a small, close-knit facilities team that includes operations and compliance professionals as well as other technicians. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch, and may occasionally include weekend or late evening work for preventive maintenance or special projects. The primary work location is a healthcare facility at one site, with periodic travel to an additional location as needed. A shared company vehicle may be available for travel between sites, and mileage reimbursement is provided when a company vehicle is not available.
This is a Permanent position based out of Richmond, VA.
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
