Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an Entry-Level Healthcare IT Technician in New Haven, CT to support activation of a brand-new neuroscience patient care tower. This contract-to-hire role offers hands-on experience with medical devices, hardware deployments, asset management, and collaboration with engineers and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment and activation of hundreds of new medical devices and technology assets.
  • Receive, unpack, inventory, tag, label, and track incoming equipment.
  • Assist with equipment installations, hardware deployments, and technology setup activities.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Read manuals and diagrams to support setup and maintenance.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, testing, and quality checks prior to clinical use.
  • Document installations and inventory using Excel and internal systems.
  • Maintain records of equipment status, repairs, deployments, and milestones.
  • Coordinate with Clinical Engineering, Facilities, Technology, and Project Teams.
  • Support equipment moves, upgrades, and deployment initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve equipment issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
  • Provide professional customer service to healthcare staff and stakeholders.
  • Follow safety procedures in construction and healthcare environments.

Entry Level Healthcare IT Technician

Location: New Haven, CT

Pay: $20-$22/hr

Our client, a nationally recognized healthcare and academic organization, is seeking an Entry-Level Healthcare Technology Technician to support the activation of a brand-new neuroscience patient care tower in New Haven.

Responsibilities
  • Support the deployment and activation of hundreds of new medical devices and technology assets throughout a newly constructed patient care tower
  • Receive, unpack, inventory, tag, label, and track incoming medical equipment and technology assets
  • Assist with equipment installations, hardware deployments, and technology setup activities
  • Assemble, disassemble, and perform basic troubleshooting on medical and technology equipment
  • Read service manuals, diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to support equipment setup and maintenance
  • Conduct equipment inspections, testing, and quality checks prior to clinical use
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and internal tracking systems to document equipment installations, project activity, and inventory information
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of equipment status, repairs, deployments, and project milestones
  • Work closely with Clinical Engineering, Facilities, Technology, and Project Teams to ensure equipment is delivered and activated on schedule
  • Support equipment moves, upgrades, replacements, and deployment initiatives throughout the project
  • Assist with identifying and resolving equipment issues while escalating more advanced technical problems as needed
  • Provide professional customer service while interacting with healthcare staff and project stakeholders
  • Follow all safety procedures while working in both active construction and healthcare environments

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
