Job summary

Transdev in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Facilities Technician to perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, facilities, and grounds under general supervision. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of building/grounds maintenance experience. Work is on-site with comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years' experience in building and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools and repair equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret instruction manuals.
• Must perform inspections for environmental requirements.
• DOT drug testing may apply; comply with 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine facilities maintenance (painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, HVAC).
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Performs non-routine repairs to equipment.
• Operates tools and equipment (concrete breakers, bucket truck, cranes, forklifts).
• Assists with moving furniture and equipment.
• Other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs routine facilities maintenance duties such as painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, HVAC repairs, and other related assignments
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Performs non-routine repairs to equipment
• Uses tools and operate equipment needed to perform job functions; equipment includes concrete breakers, bucket truck, cranes, forklifts, etc.
• Assists with moving furniture and equipment
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
• One to three years of progressively responsible experience in building and grounds maintenance
• Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools and repair equipment
• Ability to understand and interpret instruction manuals
• Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools
• Ability to perform inspections associated with various Environment requirements
• Ability to maintain Environmental logs
• Ability to perform PMs or various type of shop equipment
• Basic mechanical ability

Physical Requirements

• The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
