Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations for building/facility maintenance, as well as custodial oversight, equipment, and machinery, including HVAC, boilers, fire panels and systems, building lighting systems, grounds-keeping, and overall facility appearance.
- Supervise the custodial contractor (or staff) to ensure the buildings are clean and sanitized.
- Responsible for building issues/security breaches during off hours.
- Follows through on assignments, daily inspections, and reports issues to Executive Director of Facilities, Construction, & Fleet/principals.
- Monitor all work orders in the work order system that CPS has in place to ensure timely response, completion of tasks, and close out of work orders.
- Maintains the building and grounds in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Participates in the planning and execution of building projects that include renovations, upgrades of space, interior reconfigurations, and cosmetic improvement, and related projects.
- Performs small renovation projects independently, such as sheetrock repairs, painting, tile (vinyl and ceramic) replacement.
- Works closely and in collaboration with facilities and operations and acts as lead for building safety, building health, and compliance.
- Conducts safety reviews and monitors building operations.
- Ensures building maintenance and support services such as cleaning, fire safety, security, and energy efficiency standards and requirements are met.
- Liaises with clients and contractors as needed.
- Point person for refurbishments, repairs, and renovations.
- Performs any and all duties as may be assigned by leadership.

- F01 City Wide Fire Guard
- F03 Indoor place of Assembly
- F04 Indoor/Outdoor Place of Assembly
- S95 Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems

- Executive Director of Facilities, Construction, & Fleet & Principal(s)
Skills And Knowledge
- Knowledge of the practices, methods, and equipment utilized in all phases of facilities management, including familiarity with HVAC, mechanical, boilers, electrical, fire panel and BMS monitoring, and control systems preferred.
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills to work effectively in a school environment that is subject to changing priorities. Strong organizational and finishing skills are a must.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
- Position typically involves moderate to heavy physical activity and exertion, including heavy lifting and working in tight/awkward spaces.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities and must be able to utilize equipment and tools effectively and safely.
- Must have painting, sheetrock repair, basic carpentry, and plumbing skills.

Education And Related Work Experience
- Minimum (2) years of facilities experience.
- English and Spanish fluency preferred.
Compensation
Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Capital Preparatory Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package. This is an in-person, twelve month, full-time, non-exempt position, which is vacation eligible. Regular hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily (subject to modification).
Evening, night, weekends, and travel are required for this role and this is an in-person role.
