Job summary

Sartorius seeks a Facilities Technician/Calibration Technician for our Marlborough, MA site to maintain and calibrate critical systems, ensure GMP/OSHA compliance, and support lab and office setups.

You will perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with vendors, train junior technicians, and help manage work orders and facility documentation as part of a collaborative, safety‑driven team. The role is onsite with potential night shifts and on‑call coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training or certifications beneficial.
• Experience (1+ years) in facilities maintenance, calibration, or general building operations—biotech/pharma experience advantageous.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment.
• Physically able to lift, carry, climb, and perform hands‑on technical work.
• Familiarity with GMP, OSHA, and regulatory requirements considered a plus.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or on‑call rotations when required.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building infrastructure.
• Timely execution of maintenance requests and work orders.
• Participation in preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliable equipment performance and regulatory compliance.
• Documentation and tracking of maintenance and inspection activities in accordance with GMP and OSHA standards.
• Support of laboratory, office, and common‑area setup, including equipment installation and relocation.
• Operational support across multiple Sartorius facilities in the Marlborough area.
• Coordination with external vendors, including oversight of service quality and escalation of issues to the Facilities Manager.
• Accurate maintenance of work orders, equipment logs, and facility documentation.
• Reporting of facility issues or concerns to the Facilities Manager.
• Guidance and training of junior technicians, as well as support for facility‑related projects and initiatives.

Compensation for this position will be a base salary between $29.00 and $43.00 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications.
