Job summary

Bell's and New Belgium in Michigan is seeking a maintenance technician to perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general maintenance tasks at our distribution center. You will handle repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance across refrigeration, lighting, doors and appliances.

The role requires a high school diploma with 1–2 years of related experience, solid mechanical and HVAC skills, basic electrical knowledge, and ability to read procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 1–2 years of on-the-job experience and/or specialized training or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of equipment with multiple logic functions requiring specialized training.
• Solid mechanical skills and HVAC knowledge.
• Carpentry and plumbing skills.
• Basic electrical skills and appliance knowledge from dishwashers to coffee makers.
• Familiarity with building codes and the ability to read and interpret procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs plumbing and electrical repairs, and preventative maintenance on refrigeration, cooling systems, appliances, light fixtures, and doors.
• Oversees repairs to the building HVAC system.
• Maintains grounds, landscaping, and assists with snow/ice removal.
• Designs and installs special facility projects when needed.
• Maintains safe storage for hazardous chemicals.
• Performs building janitorial duties.

Job description

Essential Duties:

• Performs plumbing repairs, electrical repairs/modifications, preventative maintenance including refrigeration system, cooling system, appliances, light fixtures, and doors.
• Oversees and provides necessary repairs to the building HVAC system
• Performs tasks common to the care of grounds and landscapes; Assist in snow/ice removal from walkways
• Designs and installs special facility projects when needed
• Maintains a safe storage environment for hazardous chemicals
• Performs necessary building janitorial duties
• Other duties as assigned

Education/ Experience/Skills:

• High School Diploma with one (1) to two (2) years of on-the-job experience and/or specialized training and education or equivalent
• Working knowledge and capabilities with equipment with multiple logic functions and capabilities requiring specialized training.
• Solid mechanical skills and abilities
• Solid working knowledge, skills, and abilities of HVAC systems
• Solid carpentry and plumbing skills and abilities
• Basic electrical skills and abilities
• Solid working knowledge, skills and abilities of appliances including, dishwashers, microwaves, gas stoves, garbage disposals, toaster ovens and coffee makers.
• Solid working knowledge of all building codes under pressure
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures, policies, and regulations

Wage information:

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell's and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Starting Hourly Rate: $21.75

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 80lbs., and carry objects weighing up to 47lbs up to 100 feet.
• Ability to push/pull weights up to 75 lbs. and maintain the grip strength required to carry objects including buckets and boxes.
• Must also show fine motor dexterity.
• Demonstrate ability to climb stairs, stoop, crawl, twist, squat and reach overhead.
• The position requires frequent, constant standing and walking.
