Job summary

New Belgium Brewing Company is seeking a production operator to run and maintain high-speed packaging lines on the 3rd shift in North Carolina (6pm–6am, Sun–Tue and every other Sat). Base wage is $22.50 per hour plus a $6 night shift differential.

You will start up, operate, troubleshoot, and shut down equipment; participate in QA activities; load/unload with forklifts; keep the area clean; follow SOPs; and train new staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with high-speed production equipment desired.
• Solid mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read reports, instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains high-speed packaging lines.
• Troubleshoots equipment and performs adjustments as needed.
• Participates in quality assurance activities (sampling, testing, etc.).
• Loads/unloads material and finished product, including driving forklifts.
• Keeps work area clean and adheres to SOPs.
• Trains new personnel when needed.

Job description

The position is responsible for operating and maintaining high-speed packaging lines.

This is a 3rd shift position, with the working hours of 6pm-6am, Sunday-Tues and every other Saturday. Between the hours of 6pm-6am, there is an additional $6.00 shift differential added to the base wage of this position.

Essential Duties

• Conducts machine start-up, operation, and shutdown relevant to equipment area
• Conducts initial troubleshooting of equipment and production issues and makes appropriate adjustment as needed
• Engages in quality assurance activities (corrective action, sensory evaluation, sampling, testing, etc.)
• Loads/unloads material and finished product, including driving fork lifts
• Ensures clean work environment
• Adheres to SOG’s (Standard Operating Guidelines) and checklists
• Trains new personnel and other team members when needed
• Other duties as assigned

Education/ Experience/Skills

• Previous experience with high-speed production equipment desired
• Solid mechanical skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read reports, instructions, and procedures

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. overhead and 44
• lbs. carried 10 feet.
• Ability to push/pull weights up to 76 lbs. across 100 feet, and maintain the grip strength required to carry objects including cases and empty kegs (31.5 lbs.).
• Must also show fine motor dexterity.
• Ability to demonstrate their ability to climb, stoop, crawl, twist, squat and reach overhead.
• The position requires frequent, constant standing and walking

Working Conditions: Production Areas

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell’s and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Starting Hourly Rate: $22.50 per hour
