Job summary

Encompass Early Education and Care, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance worker to assist the Facilities Manager with upkeep of all buildings and equipment across Encompass centers. You will perform general maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment for children.

Responsibilities include inspecting facilities, performing landscaping, painting, and carpentry, lifting heavy loads, and operating lawn and snow removal equipment. Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related experience in facilities maintenance preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting Facilities Manager with maintenance of all buildings and equipment owned and/or operated by Encompass, assuring that they are properly maintained to provide a safe, clean and orderly environment for children. This individual will perform general maintenance tasks at all of Encompass’s centers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Carry out maintenance requests as scheduled or directed by the Facilities Manager
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues
• Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry
• Must be able to lift 50 or more pounds
• Ability to safely operation lawn and snow removal equipment
• Support the Encompass mission, demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality in all encounters

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs at all Encompass locations
2. Ensure lawn maintenance and snow removal meet agency needs
3. Assist with maintenance of Encompass owned vehicles and outdoor playground equipment
4. Assume Facilities Manager’s functions in his absence
5. Serve as backup to Transport Service Provider, upon request
6. Work cooperatively with support departments regarding facility and maintenance issues
7. Complete accurately and on time all required reports and/or necessary office recordkeeping
8. Exhibit agency values in daily work and demonstrate commitment to the agency mission
9. Perform other related duties as requested
