Job summary

Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an IT Technician to support staff across the library system, ensuring computers and devices operate reliably so employees can serve the community.

You will install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers; manage Active Directory and Microsoft 365; assist with network connectivity and basic server tasks; and document assets, participate in projects, and provide friendly guidance.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience providing hardware and software technical support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows computers, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and LAN environments.
  • An associate degree in Information Systems or a related field, or a high school diploma with formal IT training.
  • A valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals
  • Responding to Help Desk requests and ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally
  • Managing user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365, including password resets and access changes
  • Assisting with network connectivity, basic server support, and escalating complex issues when needed
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, asset inventories, and support records
  • Contributing to disaster recovery readiness by keeping endpoint devices updated
  • Participating in technology projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Providing friendly, easy-to-understand technical guidance and instruction to library staff

Do you enjoy solving technical problems and helping people succeed with technology? The Allen County Public Library is looking for a customer-focused IT Technician to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you'll provide hands-on technical support for staff across our library system, ensuring that computers, devices, and technology remain reliable so our employees can deliver outstanding service to the community.

What You'll Do

As an IT Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting the library's technology infrastructure by:
