Job summary

Menehune Water Company is seeking a reliable Facilities Technician to join our Maintenance team in Hawaii. You will handle skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance to keep facilities safe, clean, and in good working order.

You will work across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting trades; reading blueprints and manuals as needed; and performing repairs with a detail-oriented, self-motivated approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, electrical wiring, painting, and carpet/flooring installation and repair.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and specifications (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems), as well as maintenance and repair manuals.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of safe working procedures and practices.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work and carry it out with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
• Ability to physically perform assigned duties, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain building structures, furniture, and equipment.
• Install cabinets, partitions, carpets, ceiling panels, doors, and locks as needed.
• Perform electrical repairs such as replacing switches, wiring, and light fixtures.
• Paint building interiors and exteriors, furniture, concrete, and other surfaces.
• Estimate materials, labor, and time for projects, and order parts and supplies.
• Inspect facilities regularly for security, safety, and repair needs, and take corrective action.
• Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation of assigned facilities and grounds.
• Operate hand and power tools and equipment safely.
• Respond to facility emergencies during off-duty hours as needed.

About the Role

Menehune Water Company is looking for a reliable, hands‑on Facilities Technician to join our Maintenance team. You’ll handle a variety of skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repair work to keep our buildings, grounds, and equipment clean, safe, secure, and in good working order.

This is a good fit if you’re self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently across multiple trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting.

What We’re Looking For
