Job summary

Newark Wayne Community Hospital is seeking a Facilities team member to support housekeeping, floor care, security, supply distribution, inventory control, minor maintenance, and waste handling. The role requires attention to safety, good communication, and compassionate patient-focused service.

Day shift, M-F 7am-3:30pm with every-other-weekend requirement. Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and adapt to a busy hospital environment is essential. Prior related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance work orders.
• Evaluates broken equipment and performs minor repairs as needed.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and functional working environment.
• Assists in delivering supplies, equipment maintenance, room turnover, emergency response, patient and/or specimen transport, and routine housekeeping functions.
• Provides technical responsibilities such as mixing bicarbonate, restocking acid concentrate, or setting up Dialysis equipment for Dialysis treatment.
• Tests treated water for chloramines levels and disinfects the Bicarbonate Delivery System Loop.
• Provides security support services as required.
• Performs other duties as requested.

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-5 years previous work experience in a related field.
• For ElderONE employment and other areas of elderly care: 1 year experience working with the frail elderly population is preferred.
• May require a valid NYS drivers license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. PAY RANGE

$17.50 - $21.58 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
