As a Facilities Tech 2, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our facilities are safe, comfortable, and well-maintained.
Your responsibilities will include:
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum two years for Tech I, or four years for Tech II, of various skilled trading such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must have or be able to obtain within the introductory period, the following: Valid Alaska Driver's license, second Class Boiler Operators License or ability to acquire within 6 months. For Level II: CPO license.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. Employee must know what Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to use in appropriate environments and must direct others to use same.
