Job summary

The City of Portland is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related building systems. You will use a CMMS to enter and retrieve data and support safety and OSHA compliance in a busy municipal environment.

You will diagnose operating conditions, respond to emergencies, and work with trades, contractors, and the public to maintain reliable facilities across multiple city locations.

Qualifications

• Oregon LME license or higher required.
• Experience diagnosing and responding to emergency maintenance issues.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and related systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and estimate costs; coordinate contractor work.
• Ability to work with coworkers, contractors, and the public in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and related components.
• Repair and replace plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and components including sensors.
• Maintain induction and air‑handling units; service refrigeration units.
• Review plans to ensure facility maintenance standards and specifications.
• Repair and maintain structures; inspect and repair building plumbing and electrical systems.
• Repair and maintain small motorized equipment; respond to emergencies and provide technical support.
