Job summary

City of Fort Worth is seeking a Facilities Supervisor for the Water Department’s Plant Operations Division. The role supervises maintenance and repairs across Water, Wastewater, and Dryer facilities, guiding HVAC installations and upkeep and supporting senior management on HVAC needs.

The candidate will oversee staff, manage HVAC projects, monitor budgets, inspect contractors, and schedule routine maintenance, ensuring safety and compliance in a dynamic urban utility setting.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED with specialized training in building construction or a related field
• Four years of responsible experience in construction or maintenance of buildings or related structures
• Two years of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience
• Valid Texas driver's license

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff, ensuring proper training, adherence to policies, a safe work environment, and informed decisions or recommendations on hiring and disciplinary actions
• Manages and inspects HVAC projects for Plant Operations Division facilities, identifies repair needs and recommends upgrades
• Monitors contractors for quality and compliance, and verifies contract billing for accuracy
• Identifies and schedules routine HVAC maintenance and repairs
• Monitors assigned budget; and maintains records concerning pertinent building HVAC maintenance information
• Performs other related duties as required
• Provides staff assistance to higher level supervisory or management; prepares reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary
