Job summary

Fort Worth ISD is seeking a Head Custodian I to supervise custodial staff and oversee cleaning, maintenance, and operation of district facilities. The role requires ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficient building operations across campuses.

The position reports to the Supervisor - Custodial Services with a salary range of $33,184 to $39,977, 244 duty days, and non-exempt status. Evening shifts may be required as part of flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Accredited High School diploma or GED.
• Experience in janitorial or building maintenance preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to work after-hours or evenings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, plan, coordinate, and participate in custodial, grounds maintenance, and facility operations.
• Maintain cleaning schedule for floors, restrooms, classrooms, offices, gym, cafeteria, auditorium.
• Perform minor maintenance and report major repairs via work order system.
• Ensure safety, proper chemical handling, and adherence to district policies.
• Open/close buildings and secure facilities; manage custodial time reports.
