Wind Creek Hospitality is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor in Florida to lead a maintenance crew across hotel and casino facilities. The role involves coaching, scheduling preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and quality in all tasks.

The candidate should have a minimum four years of commercial property maintenance experience and be fluent in English and Spanish, with relevant certifications or a state trades license preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or enrolled and complete within 6 months.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
• At least 1 year experience in the Maintenance Department; or completion of at least two maintenance certificates or a trades license.
• Must have at least four years of commercial property maintenance experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Act as working supervisor; lead and coach crew by example and perform maintenance tasks.
• Ensure safety of personnel and conduct safety meetings.
• Coordinate maintenance between departments and build effective working relationships.
• Develop, schedule, and control a preventive maintenance program for machinery and equipment.
• Interview, hire, train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance and address issues.
• Prepare weekly schedules and adjust to meet business demands.
• Supervise electrical and mechanical maintenance activities; inspect work for standards and safety.
• Maintain facility machinery, building, and inventory of parts; manage MSDS records.
• Participate in problem identification, quality improvement, and special projects.

Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor provides supervisory level work assignments. Chiefly, acts as coach, trainer, and leader building skill levels of all on crew by example and demonstration. Frequently performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on Hotel and Casino buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems. This position is a Shift Manager level position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as a working supervisor; able to lead and coach crew by example; may perform all maintenance tasks assigned to crew, may fill in on tasks frequently
• Ensures safety of the personnel in their department and conduct regular safety meetings
• Ensures safety as it relates to equipment maintenance, guarding, etc.
• Complies with established best business practices for, and participate in the hiring, training, rewarding, and coaching of the employees in the Maintenance department
• Assists in the coordination of effort between the Maintenance department and other departments within the organization by building effective working relationships
• Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition
• Takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that departmental goals are met
• Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines team members; addresses complaints and resolves problems
• Conducts regular meetings with team members; Prepares weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts, adjusting schedules throughout the week to meet business demands
• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the maintenance electrical and mechanical operations
• Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained
• Ensures proper maintenance of facility machinery and building
• Maintains inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requisitions for purchase; periodically reviews inventory for proper upkeep to plant facilities
• Keeps MSDS current
• Participates in problem identification and quality improvement efforts
• Participates in special projects, as needed
• Uses effective written and verbal skills to accomplish responsibilities
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months of from start date as a condition of continued employment
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
• One (1) year experience in the hiring position’s Department- required
• OR completed at least two (2) maintenance certificates such as refrigeration, controls, pest control licenses, NFPA96, recreational water treatment, CPO (Certified Pool Operator), CSP (Certified Service Professional).
• OR obtained one (1) trades license issued by a State or similar public authority.
• Must have at least four (4) years of commercial property experience in maintaining or repairing of buildings, systems or equipment- required
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish- required
• Must have and maintain valid state-issued operator driver’s license
• May be responsible for furnishing own hand tools
• Must have good hearing and eyesight
• Must have ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
• Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Florida Statues and remain in good standing with the Florida Gaming Control Commission as a requirement for this position
• Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
