Job summary

City of Omaha seeks a City Maintenance Superintendent - Facilities Management to lead the operation, maintenance, and repair of municipal streets, sewers, parks, golf courses, and facilities. You will supervise a large workforce, plan work schedules, review performance, and ensure safety compliance.

Eight years of progressive experience with four years in supervision are required, plus a valid class O license.

Qualifications

Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of municipal streets, sewers, parks, golf courses, or public facilities; four years in a supervisory capacity.
Equivalent combination of experience and education may apply.
Valid class O driver's license at time of application.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, schedule, inspect, and review division operations.
Inspect and submit cost estimates for maintenance and repairs.
Review reports on personnel conduct, safety, and work records.
Initiate investigations with the public, contractors, or staff; implement solutions.
Oversee hiring, firing, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Prepare and present annual budget and forecast needs.
Develop short and long-term goals and objectives.
