Job summary

Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk in Black Hawk, Colorado is seeking a Facilities Painter I-III to prepare, paint, and finish interior and exterior surfaces. You will read blueprints, set up scaffolding, and apply finishes following specifications to maintain our luxury property.

The role requires proven painting experience, attention to detail, basic math, and the ability to work on ladders and scaffolding.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a painter.
• Excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix and apply them.
• Solid knowledge of commercial/construction painting techniques.
• Aptitude in using brushes, caulking guns and related tools.
• Good basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Manual dexterity to work on scaffolding and ladders.
• Conscientious with strong attention to detail.
• Must be at least 21 and able to obtain Colorado Gaming License.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and examine surfaces to determine work.
• Set up scaffolding and cover fixtures as needed.
• Prepare walls for painting by scraping and sanding.
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material.
• Mix paint to achieve required color/texture.
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
• Apply varnish and other finishes.
• Estimate costs and negotiate prices.
• Maintain health and safety standards on site.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
• Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
• Apply varnish and other finishes
• Calculate costs and negotiate prices
• Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a painter
• Excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix and apply them
• Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
• Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
• Good basic math skills
• Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
• Conscientious with great attention to detail
• High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Support Gaming License
