Job summary

Life Surge Llc in New York is seeking a dependable Facilities Specialist to care for our offices and support staff. The role covers daily maintenance, repairs, and inventory management, with emphasis on attention to detail and hands-on problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
  • Practical knowledge of tools, furniture assembly, minor plumbing, electrical repairs.

  • Ability to safely lift, move, and assemble furniture and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Handle everyday upkeep and minor repairs around our offices and related facilities.
  • Assemble and move furniture, set up workspaces, and help keep storage areas organized.
  • Walk through assigned areas regularly, spot issues, and follow through until they're resolved.
  • Keep track of supplies and help with routine tasks such as replacing light bulbs and removing trash.
  • Work with outside vendors by helping schedule visits, providing access, communicating what needs attention, and checking that work is completed.
  • Pitch in when the team needs an extra hand.
  • Completes duties and assignments accurately and in a timely manner; works independently when necessary; pays attention to detail; works at a steady pace, regardless of pressures.
  • Works effectively with management, peers, vendors and customers (as applicable).
  • Demonstrates loyalty to the team and provides assistance when needed.

This position requires a keen eye for detail, ability to recognize and solve problems. General knowledge and experience with tools and facility repair, the ability to stay organized and follow a routine checklist that provides regular inspection and cleaning assigned areas is required. Duties include but not limited to, cleaning, furniture and workstation assembly, maintaining inventory of building supplies, replacing light bulbs, trash removal, managing and organizing storage areas.
