Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of University buildings, equipment, and campus infrastructure.
  • Assist with or independently perform repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, masonry, locks, vehicles, small engine equipment, and other building systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems.
  • Inspect buildings and equipment for safety, maintenance, and operational concerns.
  • Diagnose maintenance issues and determine repair methods using manuals, blueprints, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Dismantle equipment to access defective components and repair or replace parts.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional, and customer‑focused manner.
  • Follow all University safety policies and applicable workplace safety procedures.
  • Assist with other Facilities Management duties and special projects.

Position Summary: The Facilities Services Maintenance employee performs general maintenance and repair to help keep Warner University's buildings, grounds, systems, and equipment in safe, functional, and attractive condition. Depending on qualifications and experience, this position may be filled as an entry‑level employee receiving on‑the‑job training or as an experienced Maintenance Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of University buildings, equipment, and campus infrastructure.
  • Assist with or independently perform repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, masonry, locks, vehicles, small engine equipment, and other building systems based on experience and training.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems.
  • Inspect buildings and equipment for safety, maintenance, and operational concerns.
  • Diagnose maintenance issues and determine appropriate repair methods using experience, technical manuals, blueprints, manufacturer instructions, and other resources.
  • Dismantle equipment or machinery to access defective components and repair or replace parts as needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional, and customer‑focused manner.
  • Follow all University safety policies and applicable workplace safety procedures.
  • Assist with other Facilities Management duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous maintenance, construction, facilities, or trade experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for qualified entry‑level candidates.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn building maintenance skills.
  • Experience or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, locksmithing, or other skilled trades is strongly preferred for experienced candidates.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as required.
  • Strong attendance, dependability, and customer service skills.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and be able to meet the University's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards for authorized drivers.
  • Must maintain reliable telephone and internet service on a personal mobile device to receive work‑related communications while performing assigned duties.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check and any other pre‑employment requirements established by the University.
Working Relationships

The Facilities Services Maintenance employee is a member of the Facilities Management team and reports to the Director of Facilities.

Work Schedule

Work schedule is determined based on departmental needs and may require occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency response to campus maintenance needs.
