Job summary

Catholic Charities of New York is seeking a Maintenance Worker to uphold the physical environment of Beacon of Hope House programs in New York City. The role involves interior/exterior cleaning, hazard monitoring, and coordinating with vendors for repairs.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., located at Cooke Residence. A NY state driver’s license and 3–5 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance/janitorial field.
• NY state Driver's license required.
• 3-5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall interior and exterior buildings’ cleanliness.
• Maintain the safety of the site by assessing, monitoring, and resolving hazards.
• Report all building related problems to supervisory staff.
• Maintain supplies inventory, and distributing when such indicated.
• Perform maintenance, repairs and painting at the site.
• Operate light machinery and equipment to maintain the building.
• Coordinate repair work with vendors as directed.
• Set up, break down and move furniture or equipment.
• Assist with tasks related to maintaining the agency vehicles.
• Support the maintenance operations at other Beacon of Hope sites, as needed.
