Job summary

Cuyuna Regional Medical Center seeks a Facilities Safety Specialist to oversee safety programs across our hospital operations. You will coordinate construction, maintenance, vendor contracts, and space utilization with Plant Operations and internal departments to ensure regulatory compliance and safe, efficient facilities management.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years in facilities administration or project management, experience in healthcare facilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities administration, construction project management, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in healthcare facilities management and familiarity with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards
• Adept in using Microsoft Office programs

A Day in the Life of a Facilities Safety Specialist

The Facilities Safety Specialist supports facility operations, project oversight, and safety compliance across the organization. This role involves hands-on coordination of construction, maintenance, vendor contracts, and space utilization in collaboration with Plant Operations and internal departments. Daily work includes managing safety programs, conducting regulatory assessments, and tracking maintenance through specialized software. Challenges often include juggling competing priorities, responding to urgent compliance issues, and maintaining smooth communication across teams. The role combines structured administrative tasks with on-ground problem-solving and proactive safety leadership.
