Job summary

Loudoun County Government is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to lead the Facilities Renovation team under the Department of Transportation & Capital Infrastructure. The role oversees planning, design, construction, and furniture installation for renovations of county facilities and ensures alignment with growth and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership and management of a multi-disciplinary facilities renovation program.
• Knowledge of facilities planning, engineering/architecture design, contract management, and construction techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to build relationships with staff, state agencies and partners.
• Ability to interpret complex architectural, MEP, and structural construction documents.
• Experience developing and implementing process and policy changes.
• Experience planning, developing, maintaining, and reporting on program budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of planning, design, project managers, and construction professionals.
• Coordinate procurement of professional services, construction contracts, and other contracts.
• Advise Department and County Leadership on policy matters.
• Manage and coordinate emergency or ad hoc projects designated by the Director.
• Provide strategic planning for the department's long and short-term goals and objectives.
• Develop and implement comprehensive plans for capital projects, aligned with growth and sustainability goals.
• Present to community organizations, boards, and commissions on capital facilities projects.
• Engage stakeholders and foster consensus among diverse groups.
• Maintain a professional work environment in accordance with County policies and procedures.
