Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a maintenance technician to conduct tests on emergency generators, electrical panels, refrigeration systems and HVAC equipment. The role includes inspecting roof and sprinkler systems, lubricating components, and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include recording data, testing alarms and pumps, and performing occasional carpentry tasks for other departments.

Qualifications

• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance problems in environments with minimal standardization.
• Ability to perform duties under constant time pressure.
• Experience with testing and inspecting electrical systems and equipment.
• Ability to record data from electrical panels and equipment.
• Experience inspecting refrigeration systems and HVAC components.

Responsibilities

• Test emergency generator.
• Record data from main electrical panels.
• Inspect equipment and building areas (air compressors, roof equipment, sprinklers).
• Test sprinkler system water flow, tamper switches and alarms.
• Test fire pumps and alarms.
• Inspect and repair/replace equipment to avoid downtime.
• Inspect and lubricate condensers and evaporators.
• Perform annual inspections on refrigeration compressors (oil/filter, internal inspection).
• Inspect and lubricate freezer and cooler doors and repair as needed; maintain parts inventory.
• Design and construct carpentry items requested by other departments.
