Job summary

Off The Hook in Southeast Louisiana is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain refrigeration and HVAC systems across restaurant locations. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair walk-in coolers/freezers, rooftop units, and cooking equipment, while maintaining PM logs and coordinating with licensed contractors.

The role requires a hands-on, safety‑minded professional who can work days, evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and building schematics.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, on ladders, and on rooftops.
• Valid Louisiana driver's license with a clean MVR.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in refrigeration units, and ice machines; ensure food safety temperature compliance.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on rooftop HVAC units, split systems, exhaust fans, and makeup air units, including filter replacement, coil cleaning, and belt and motor inspections.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance for refrigeration and HVAC systems across assigned locations.
• Diagnose and perform minor and complex repairs on commercial cooking equipment including fryers, grills, flat tops, ovens, steam tables, slicers, and mixers.
• Calibrate cooking equipment temperatures and verify proper gas pressure, ignition, and burner performance.
