Job summary

Avon Old Farms School seeks a Shipping / Receiving & Purchasing Coordinator within Facilities to oversee procurement, inventory, and freight receiving for the department. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, this role ensures parts and materials are available for trades, maintains accurate stock levels, and supports campus mailroom coverage as needed.

Requires a High School diploma and 3+ years in industrial receiving or purchasing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3+ years in industrial receiving, purchasing, or warehouse support.
• Experience with CMMS or inventory software and MS Excel/Sheets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and offload freight and maintenance supplies.
• Verify shipments against PO and specs; report discrepancies to vendors.
• Maintain organized facilities warehouse and inventory areas.
• Operate material-handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) as needed.
• Process POs for maintenance staff and manage inventory to prevent stockouts.
