Job summary

University of Maryland, College Park is seeking a Facilities Projects Manager to oversee all assigned projects and contractor work on campus. The role involves coordinating university and outside contractors, managing timelines, and ensuring safety and quality across a broad range of trades.

The candidate will communicate with internal clients about construction methods, materials, and schedules, and develop solutions for projects lacking finalized designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of facilities, operations, construction, renovation, or maintenance experience.
• Up to four (4) years of relevant work experience may substitute for one year of education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, track, close out, and manage all assigned projects.
• Coordinate and manage work of university on‑call contractors and outside contractors.
• Lead projects including emergency work, life safety, small‑scale renovations, concrete, masonry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting, carpentry, steel/iron works, roofing, and tree trimming.
• Communicate with customers and internal users regarding construction methods, materials, and timelines.
• Develop solutions and complete projects that lack finished design specifications or drawings.
