Job summary

Compass Group USA's ESFM division in Mahwah, NJ is seeking a Facilities Project Manager to lead capital and operational projects affecting site infrastructure, utilities, and building systems.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in engineering/construction/facilities management and 5+ years' experience delivering facilities projects in regulated environments, with strong scheduling, budgeting, and contractor coordination. PMP and MS Project experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, facilities management, or a related discipline required.
• 5+ years of related experience delivering facilities, infrastructure, utility, construction, or equipment-installation projects.
• Demonstrated project management experience with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, risk, contractors, and stakeholder communication.
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, utility, dust extraction, and building infrastructure systems preferred.
• Experience planning construction activities, shutdowns, equipment moves, commissioning, and turnover in an active manufacturing or regulated environment preferred.
• Proficiency with project scheduling, budgeting, and reporting tools; MS Project or MS Project Online experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills required.
• Formal project management training and PMP certification preferred.
• Manufacturing plant experienced preferred; regulated environments considered ok

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned facilities projects from concept through closeout, defining scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders, design professionals, contractors, vendors, and authorities from concept to turnover.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to operations.
• Develop charters, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, risk registers, procurement plans, and status reports.
• Review drawings, submittals, and proposals for technical completeness and constructability.
• Coordinate permits, inspections, lockout/tagout, and work-area controls for safe execution.
• Track commitments, forecasts, invoices, and changes; manage material risks and decisions.
• Facilitate project meetings, document decisions, and communicate status to senior management.
• Ensure complete project closeout with commissioning records, training, and as-built documentation.
